If I walked outside in the states and saw that my neighbor had laid out a bunch of beans (okay this would never happen) to dry there is NOOOOOO way I would let my toddler touch them, let alone crawl and tumble about in them. But here it is a whole different world...
I took C out the other day and there was a 20x20 foot square covered with beans, corn and sunflower seeds. FILLED with neighborhood kids. At one point I counted 22 toddlers/babies playing in it like a big PUBLIC sandbox.
We played for a long time. Reminded me of my days back at TC McDaniels when we would have 'tactile play' with boxes of rice and beans. Then the couple whose stuff it was came out. And just smiled and laughed and started sweeping it all up.
So fun to grow up here!
