The Waterfall

So a few weeks ago now we took this day trip to the biggest waterfall in all of China. A friend of ours from here had her family here on a visit so we joined them. I never usually post this many pics in one post so here you go...

love C's cheesy smile here

You can walk behind the waterfall. Here we are getting ready to go 'in'

From inside the waterfall

And when you come out there is a man selling a very sensible snack - raw cucumbers (which our child loves!). Everyone (not an exaggeration) had one.

Walking through the water of this river on the 365 day stones

Buying another sensible snack - hard boiled eggs

Making friends everywhere we go

Never afraid to hug and kiss the new friends (the little girl was not so impressed)

Car Seat Woes

This past weekend we were blessed to take a trip to the biggest waterfall in China (more pics of that to come). Our son has not been regularly in a car seat for over a year now. But on this 2 hour trip we had an extra space so were able to take one. He did great playing with toys and listening to music.

But I am not sure I had him in there right...

Not that it mattered too much since there are of course no seat belts in the van we took. And we tied the car seat in with the green rope you see.

So Sean rented the van and drove us. The people we had with us were Asian. And Sean got SOOOOO many funny looks from passers by, and from people we stopped to ask directions from. One boy asked him, "Are you Chinese? Why are you driving those people around? Did you buy that car?"

New Park and free Fish Candy

We have really been enjoying our last few weeks of summer before school starts up again. Last week we went to a new park outside of the city. Caed ended up crying shortly after this pic was taken b/c a tree "binched' him (that is bit and pinched) and got his foot wet.

C & G throw things off the hill

picnic lunch.

And the fish candy. Caed went up to this group of locals, we were all watching from a distance wondering what goodies he would inevitably return with. When he came back his mouth was full of something that smelled very fishy. Yes it was some sort of dried fish snack. So gross. Glad he will get to experience lots of different foods here - as I would NEVER give him fish flavored candy/snacks. He also came back with a jelly juice drink too.

MoYang

This past weekend we took another trip down south to show some friends around. There is a BY village down there that is a tourist draw. It has beautiful crystal water and really friendly people, like this man who let us borrow his raft to get across the river

Caed loved being on the 'boat'

random - very very little motor bike

water in MY

this pic is out of place but here goes the story -
on the way home from our trip Caed fell asleep on my shoulder, shortly after the man sitting next to me also fell asleep on my shoulder! Sean and I joked that Caed must have looked too comfortable and tempted this man to sleep there. The positive side to this pic is that Caed IS SLEEPING! The kid behind me threw-up on his mom, and the baby infront of me cried for a very very long time! Thank goodness - I guess Caed was all worn out from the monsterous tantrum he threw while we were in MoYang.

beautiful water in this little village
